Q. Who can purchase from Cables Direct?

A. Anybody can. Athough we deal primarily with computer companies, OEM's, learning institutions and government departments, we don't have restrictions on who can purchase from us at our advertised prices.

Q. Can I get an order shipped to a country other than New Zealand?

A. No, we can only dispatch orders within New Zealand at this time.

Pricing

Q. Are your prices inclusive or exclusive of New Zealand GST?

A. All prices listed on our web site are exclusive of GST. GST will be automatically calculated and added to your order total at the checkout stage.

Q. How many products do you have on your web site?

A. We have over 1600 products online.

Stock

Q. Can I back-order a product if no stock is available?

A. Whilst we do not back-order products, if you request either a Stock Check, ETA or add an item to your Watchlist, you will be notified as soon as stock is available. Once you receive the notification you can login and place your order.

Q. How accurate are your stock levels displayed on your web site?

A. Stock levels are updated online 5 times a day. We strive for 100% accuracy in stock levels but if levels fall below a certain level that we have set, a [?] will be displayed so you can check the exact quantity available before purchasing.

Payment

Q. How can I pay for product(s) I wish to purchase?

A. We accept the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

Q. I do not have a credit card, how can I pay?

A. Unfortunately, due to the automated nature of the web site we operate we cannot accept any other forms of payment.

Q. When will my credit card be charged?

A. Your credit card will be charged at the end of the order process. You will receive a confirmation and tax invoice from us via email shortly after the transaction has been completed.

Delivery

Q. When will my order arrive?

A. All* orders received before 2.50pm Monday - Friday (excluding Public Holidays) will be dispatched the same day via CourierPost's 'Signature Required' overnight courier service. Urban deliveries are generally before midday the next day but rural deliveries may take a little longer.

*Cable rolls and very large orders are dispatched via Bullet Freights' two day delivery service.

Q. What happens if there is nobody to sign for the delivery?

A. If the courier cannot obtain a signature at a delivery address, a calling card will be left requesting that the CourierPost office be contacted to arrange a suitable delivery time.

Q. Can you deliver to PO Boxes?

A. Yes, CourierPost will deliver to PO Boxes.

Q. What does the term Drop Shipment mean?

A. Drop Shipment means that no Cables Direct picking list will be included in your order. A generic picking list will be included with your company details so your customer thinks that you have supplied the product directly. If for some reason the delivery cannot be made, the courier may contact you directly for additional delivery information.

You can select the Drop Shipment option during the order process when you specify a delivery address.
